On 28 April 2026, the heart of European manufacturing stopped beating for an hour. ESN organised a coordinated walkout at 19 plants: a wake-up call from those who build Europe with steel and hard work.
From France to Slovakia, via Germany, Spain and Italy, they switched off the machines:
R.Bourgeois
ESTAMODE
Gebr. Waasner Elektrotechnische Fabrik Gmbh.
LAGOR Srl
Malvestiti Group
Oiki Acciai Inossidabili Spa
ORANGE1 HOLDING
STEMA TECH SRL
thyssenkrupp
TRANCERIE EMILIANE S.p.A.
VALTARO MOTORI SRL
VMF
Many other companies joined in symbolically. The message to politicians is clear: competitiveness is at risk. We need concrete strategies, support for the transition and protection of production.
The machines stopped for an hour so that they would not have to stop forever. Industry needs answers. Now.
